I think Ouellete is my mother's mother's (my Meme) maiden name Beatrice Ouellette married to Leo Provencher in Lowell Mass..My mother Yvette Provencher was born in 1943 (legally G. Yvette Provencher....the G is Gloria & there is drama I have no facts on).....I am completely unsure when they came down to the US from Canada...I dare say it was the end of the 1800s or the very early 1900s...both her parents had native (or indian) blood in them but I don't know from what tribes...I think Meme's mother's maiden name was Dubois....I think her 1st name was Freece (or something that sounds like this spelling)
