Greetings to you, Jan. I have seen your name in the information passed on to me by my first cousin Kaye Otting. When I took on the task of finalizing the Wynn(e) genealogy and making it public for all to see and use as they saw fit, I decided to include not only the Wynn(e)'s but anyone connected to the tree via whatever association. Kaye and I write each other almost daily and I am in the process of adding her information on the surname Otting, Fitts, and anyone related. I wrote Kaye that I had seen your name in the Otting forum and forwarded some queries I had received from a man named John. Here is what she wrote me back: Henon Tillman Sr.and Boyd Miller (Bob's dad) were both sons of Harriet Matilda so that makes H.T. Bob's uncle and this H T Jr would be his cousin.
The two wives of Benjamin F each had a set of kids. The set whose names I sent are from the first wife (John Haigwood is a part of that bunch) and Bob's dad is a part of the second set. John Haigwood seems to know more about ancestors than any other Otting I've found and relates a lot of stories about them. Bob says he remembers his mother visiting him. Henon (HT) says his grandad Benjamin Franklin was in Ohio for a time. There are many other Ottings in Ohio, according to the other Bob Otting we met, and we should be able to establish a connection somehow. I checked to see if that Bob Otting still lives in our area and the only one I see listed uses the initial R (his name is actually Robert and Bob's is actually Bobby). May be him.
I am verifying all these names because I don't believe some of them were listed in the information Kaye sent me earlier. It is interesting to note that I originally emailed Kaye to ask her if Jana (her daughter)had her own computer because I had seen the name "Jana Otting" listed in the forum. I don't know what I would have in the way of Otting/Fitts information that you don't already have, but you are certainly welcome to any information I have. I am not that familiar with the two families beyond Aunt Patty, Uncle R. G., Kathryn (Kaye) and Paul Fitts (now deceased). My brother Marshall and I used to stay with them when I was about 4 and my brother 6. They are very "special" to me (my brother deceased at age 29) and I wouldn't think of including anything family-related without their names being right there beside mine. Thanks for your query and if I can help, you can be assured I will do all I can.
W. J. Wynn
