Brick wall for years with my dads side of the family tree. Any information would be appreciated. There is an Ostrosky/Oranchuk book which I have. I'm trying to dig further back. My grandfather was Frank Ostrosky. Somewhere along the way the name was changed from Ostrowski. Franks parents were Phillip or Filiko born 1872-1875 and Rose or Rosalee Sarchuk born 1877-1881. The church with Franks birth records burned down. Frank had 7 siblings. Many changed their names, some disappeared. I believe Philips dad passed away in Austria and he and his father shared the same name. I have record of Philips mother coming to Canada with her daughter and son in law and their family in 1903 (Sarchuk). They settled in Saskatchewan. Philip Sr and Susan or Ksenka or Ksanka Mykytiuk or Mykitiuk had 4 children. Phillip Jr, Mary or Maria,Anne and Eva. Does anyone have birth/death/marriage records for any of these people? I'm having a hard time getting any of this information because I don't even know where exactly they came from or where. Also, I came across a military record for Philip Jr, Ostrowski being spelled Ostrouski, listing him being born in the USA, which is confusing matters even more. How could his mother have come across from Austria 20+ years after his birth but he be born in the USA? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
