Is anyone working on Peter Ostman born in Sweden in 1813? Here is his family in the 1850 Boston census where they were listed as Osman. They usually went by Ostman, however.

Peter Osman       37 (b. 1813) ship rigger       Sweden
Cath.               33 (b. 1817)              England
Christina        15 (b. 1835)              Sweden
Peter                9 (b. 1841)              Massachusetts
George         7 (b. 1843)                     Massachusetts
Jacobina         6 (b. 1844)              Massachusetts
Caroline         3 (b. 1847)              Massachusetts
Louisa                2 (b. 1848)              Massachusetts

There was a daughter Elizabeth born in 1838 who died before 1850 and another son, John T. Ostman, born in 1851. John lived in Boston the rest of his life.

Christina, listed in 1850 as born in Sweden, gave her birth place as Mass. in 1860 and 1870. She married Jacob Barstow Sherman.

Peter Sr. died before 1855.

I am particularly interested in the son George. He was George H. Ostman b. 1843 in Boston d. 1921 in Starke, FL. He was a widower in the 1920 FL census but I don't know who his wife was. He appears in no censuses after 1860 until the 1920 census in FL.

I suspect that George's father Peter Ostman ties into the family of Karl Fredrik Östman of Lohärad, Stockholm, Sweden. Possibly Peter is his cousin. If you can add anything to this, please drop me a line.
