Ostiguy is a Basque name, a province of France. The first Ostiguy that came to North America was a soldier in the French army in Canada. When discharched,he established himself on a farm in St-Mathias, Province of Québec, Canada. It is believe that all Ostiguy's in America are descendants of this man. I have a fairly complete genealogy tree of the Ostiguy's. If you know more details about the origin of your great grand father, I may be able to trace your origins.
