Dear Michele,I am the oldest grandaughter of Walter and Julia Ostendorf and have been working with Gary Ostendorf (brother of Page) to put the Ostendorf geneology tree together.I spoke with Gary last night, and he is extremely excited to have all of the information you have sent to him/Page.My mother, who was the eldest daughter of Julia and Walter, was named "Emma", which seems to be quite a favorite in the Ostendorf family.
In fact, as a little girl, I visited Emma, Ralph's oldest sister, in St. Louis. Her husband was an executive in an insurance company. She had one daughter who sent all of her expensive clothing to my mother to wear. They all eventually moved to Arizona; and, unfortunately, we have lost tract of the daughter since that time.We will all appreciate any further information you uncover re:the Ostendorf family.Gary and Page are going to the Hamilton Court House Saturday to review documents and I would like to visit the cemetery where Clem and Clara are buried.I am visiting Germany in December (a brief vacation) and if you have any info on towns, people, etc., maybe I can make a sidetrip to the city from where most of our ancestors migrated.
