Dear Olin,
You are not going to believe this but,
so help me, it is true.I have some papers that were given to be my my Grandmother's nephew, Allen R. Taylor, not long before he died last July. One of the papers which I picked up to read TODAY that caught my interest was the same page you just quoted.
I was reading about Nancy Mizell Tippens family's masacre. The item you mentioned was just printed on that page up to about where it mentioned how Mr. O'Steen died. Now I have John A. O'Steen Sr. and Ada Weeks, his wife in my files. I have John A.'s death date as 2/15/1840. It was so close I wanted to see if what I had was an error. I never thought about the possiblity of it being a son.Have you found anything out yet? Please e-mail me if you would like & maybe I can help with something if you are researching many of the same people I am. I am a direct descendant of Luke Mizell I.
Hoping to hear from you.Shirley
