In my file I show: James OSTEEN bn 1804 in Bryan Cty, Ga. md Mary THOMPSON, do Richard THOMPSON and Lucretia ROGERS, January 8, 1828.Their children were: Richard, Riley, James, William Edward(aka Obediah?), Martha, Allen, Elizabeth, John, Jackson, Penelope, Jane (Lugenia), Nancy L., Thomas, and Calvert L. This James was the son of Obediah OSTEEN bn 1773/1782

James was bn in Bryan Co., Ga.He was a son of Sarah and Obediah O'Steen.He move from Chathan Co., Ga to Taylor, Baker Co., Fl.He then moved to Nassau Co., Fl. and soon after to St. Johns Co., Fl.He died in 1879 there and was the first person to be buried in Pelecere Creek Cemetery.
