I may be able to help you. I have an Effie Osgood in my family tree born 1897, daughter of Alvin Osgood and Blanche Simonds. They resided in and around Norwood, New York State.
In 1919 Effie was residing in Heuvelton and in 1938 in East Hampton.
Effie's g/mother was Marcella Simonds, nee Blake. She married Charters Simonds, master mariner, in Yass, New South Wales, Australia, 29 April 1854.
It's possible your Effie is the daughter of my Effie.
