Ruth L. Osgood is my Great Aunt. My mother was Eleanor Osgood Chessman, daughter of Harold Osgood, Ruth's brother. I knew her as an artist as we had several of her paintings in our home growing up and she visited our family some up in New Hampshire where we went for the summer when we were young children as did she as a child. Since my Uncle Bob and Aunt Gretchen Osgood are deceased now, I received several of Aunt Ruth's sketch books from her youth with pencil drawings of myself as a toddler. I also inherited some biographical narratives written by Ruth about her childhood and an early photograph of her with her three siblings, Harold, Alan, and Ethel. I was curious as to her art background training and found that she had attended the Corcoran School of Art in D.C. So glad to touch base with another relative of hers.
Do you know what the L in her name stood for? Thanks!
