The Aarons are incorrect in the older genealogies. A correction was printed, but I have only found that in some of the better libraries, like SLC. The one you have as Aaron III is actually Aaron IV. They made the mistake on Aaron Jr, aka Captain Aaron. The old printed genealogy says that he married twice and had 16 kids. In fact, they were confusing the father with the son. This is the corrected Aaron line. You can look here in this forum for more information -- I know I wrote this up here years ago. Aaron Osgood b. 1705 Andover MA. M1 Eunice WHITE 1729 in Lancaster MA. She died 1751, Aaron remarried Mary Dane, he died in Ervingshire MA in 1769. Aaron Osgood Jr, or Captain Aaron Osgood, b. 1732 Andover MA, m 1754 Mrs. Hannah Warner (I have never found her maiden name) in Andover. Moved to New Salem MA by 1765. Hannah was definitely the mother of the next Aaron, but I don't have Hannah's death date. Look in Shutesbury MA. Aaron Jr. remarried a Sarah Wetherby. (This is where some of the confusion still comes in. Both Aaron 1 and 2 are in New Salem MA at the same time, and both lose their first wives. One remarries the widow Mary Ballard there. I think I have it right that Aaron 1 marries Mary Dane Ballard there.) Aaron Osgood Jr, or Captain Aaron, is the one with the higher rank in the Rev, and the one who removes to Black River Country. He dies in Clarendon NY in 1822 at the age of 89. Aaron Osgood III, was a young man in the Revolution, and because he had three marriages, it gets confused. He was born in 1760 in New Salem MA. He married first Susannah Stowe, whose bible has been much discussed, and is recorded in the DAR material. Your Aaron IV was among her children. Susannah died in child birth with her 8th child, at age 30. Aaron III remarried twice. I don't know the second wife's name, but we do know the names of the children, and the last wife was a Jane. He had children by all three wives. He died in 1851 in Whitehall NY, and there was a probate, about which I've written more in this forum. Hope this helps.
