We corresponded a few years back...I am still working on the Osborn family....I don't know if you have found your Edwards line or not, but in researching the Shy family in Cabell Co. WVA I found some Edwards in Franklin County, VA who married into the Cantrell family....My research indicates that Edmund Osborn is related to the Shy family through the Harvey family...Chester Co. and Cumberland Co.in Pa and Orange and Caswell Counties in N.C....Evidently Meredith Osburn was named for his mother's father....Meredith Edwards.....
you can find this family if you go to the Edwards genforum post #39 and then google this family....John Edwards married Ruth Crabtree and her brother was in Lee County,Va....home of Edmund Osborne....John Edwards had a half sister, Sarah Cantrell, who married Joel Chitwood in Franklin County,Va....Joel Chitwood lived eight doors from Benjamin Wray in the 1810 Franklin County,Va census...Benjaman Wray's daughter, Elizabeth, married Edward Shy in Franklin Co. Va and they moved to Cabell Co.VA...
