Marshal Osburn b. 1795 found 1840 census Patrick, VA

I would like to make contact with a descendant of the Marshal Osburn/Osborn family as found on the 1840 Patrick, VA census.

I am really looking for a Marshall Osborne born in 1795 in NY (Maybe) and married to Sallie (unknonw) b. NC. They are definitely in NC for 1850, 1860, 1870 census but have older children born in VA. That family on that VA census for 1840 would match the age of my Osborne family and the children would match the known children born at that time.

The spelling is a problem as it could be Marshal or Marshall or Osborne, or Osborn, or Osburn as those are the various spellings for my family on census records that I find them.

The children of this family are pretty well documented it is just that I cannot trace the parents of the father, Marshall. I do not know the surname for the wife either so everything is very difficult.

I find a Marshal Osburn still in VA for the 1870 census and he was born in 1843 but I do not have such a child in my line that I know about. Our oldest child is a Thomas M. and we always supposed that perhaps the M was for Marshall but have nothing to prove that. He was always just Dr. Thomas M. Osborne on everything.

If you are connected and would contact me, I would much appreciate it. dbton@yahoo.com
