Hello Mike:

Some years ago I tried to find documentation on the marriage of Branch Osborne and Elizabeth Geurrant Dupuy. I was unsuccessful. I have been able to piece together the marriage and offspring of Branch Osborne and Mildred Carter. Nottoway is a tough county with all the records that were destroyed at Nottoway Courthouse near the end of the Civil War. Branch and Mildred's oldest daughter Lucy Ann is my 3rd great grandmother. Lucy Ann was born in about 1818. Branch is an unusual first name and if the dates and locations are correct then he may have married twice. What do you have so far on Branch and Elizabeth's union?

The most up to date documentation about Branch Osborne's ancestry can be found in th 4th edition of Adventurers of Purse and Person VIRGINIA 1607 - 1624/5. I can scan the appropriate pages and send them to you. It lists Branch as the son of William Osborne and Ann Sterling, though I really think she was Ann Sterling Clack based upon the names of their other children. I need to dig further in my files for other research on the Clack line.

Hope this is of some help. Stuart
