John Shy and Martha Harvey......Edmond Osburn..

I have been researching Edward Shy of Cabell County, WVA because I believe that Edmond Osburn and he may have a connection through the Isaac Harvey and Martha Newlin of Chester County, Pa and Orange County, NC....Their daughter married John Shy...he died ca. 1790 and she married Jesse Towell...moved to Orange County, Indiana.....John Towell was on the same tax list in 1810 with Edmond in Lee County, VA...The next day William Poteet and John Abshire were on the same tax list...David Noe was charged with wounding William Poteet with a knife in Lee County...William's sister, Elizabeth was married to John Abshire, formerly to an Isaac Bunnion/Banian in Franklin County.....Edward Shy married Elizabeth Wray in Franklin County...She was the daughter of Susannah Poteet and Benjamin Wray....William Poteet, John Towell, and Edmond Osborn owned land on the Powell River...Other Lee County Harvey connections are George Madden and John Page...
Edmond Osburn was the grandson of Samuel Osburn who was half brother to Isaac Harvey.... The Osburns, Rays,Poteets,Shys eventually moved to Cabell County, Va...along with other Franklin County settlers, including Littleberry Adkins....

Benjamin Wray and William Absher are on a property transfer between Hezekiah Hall and Benjamin Wray on Mulberry Creek in Wilkes Co. NC...1799...See HALL Families of Wilkes Coounty, NC Research Notes (1774-1799)..Benjamin Wray is on the 1810 Franklin County,Virginia census with the Poteet family.
