Dabney T Osborne, born in Halifax Co. VA 11/24/1824, a son of Thomas Osborne, a native of SC born during the Revolutionary War. His Grandparents had to flee from the Tories, his Grand-Mother having her arm nearly severed in three places. His Grand-Father was an Englishman and owned three ships that were captured by the British. He afterward owned nearly a third of Richmond, VA. He was in the battles of Lexington, Guilford Courthouse, Cowpens and many others under Washington. He died soon after the close of the war. Dabney came to Davies Co KY in 1851. He owns 135 acres of good land and is engaged in farming and stock raising. He is considered one of the best marksman in the country having killed about 1,000 deer and a large number of wild turkey Etc. He is a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
