Judge Clyde W. Osborne, 91
YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home for Judge Clyde W. Osborne, 91, formerly of Brookfield Ave. in Boardman, who passed away Monday afternoon at Hospice House.
Judge Osborne was born April 21, 1917 in Youngstown, a son of Mark and Loretta McEvey Osborne Sr.
He started his career as a police reporter for The Vindicator, then worked under Mayor Henderson. Later, he entered into private practice as a lawyer, went on to be the assistant Prosecutor, then Prosecutor. Lastly, he retired as Judge of Common Pleas Court.
Judge Osborne was a member of the Mahoning County Bar Association, the Elks Club, and a social member of the Youngstown Maennerchor and Saxon Clubs. He was also an active member of the Republican Party.
He was a member of the Boardman United Methodist Church and also an Army veteran of WWII.
His wife, the former Jean E. Lewis, whom he married Aug. 4, 1942, died Jan. 5, 2001. They enjoyed many years of ballroom dancing together.
Surviving him are two daughters, Linda Jean Fosnaught of Columbus and Lorene Ellen (Mark Holmes) Osborne of Boardman; a brother, William Glenn (Jan) Osborne of McMinnville, Ore.; and two grandchildren, Mark (Tina) Fosnaught of Columbus and Brent (Katy) Fosnaught of San Diego.
Preceding him in death, besides his wife, are his parents; and a brother, Mark Osborne Jr.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
