Wonderful to hear from you and I can't believe Sid Ory's your dad. That's to much. Your right, we must have passed each other coming and going, I grew up in Baton Rouge, graduated from Lee high in '71. Moved to Lafayette in 89 and been here since.
I love to listen to KPEL "Prime Time", all the native Lafayetters call in and talk about old times, it's wonderful, especially since I didn't grow up here. Great....
My ex-husbands grandmother was Annie Ory Doiron. She lived way out on Highland Road. Her grew up across the Street from Grandpa Joe Doiron (her husband) on the Edmsonton property, which I believe they aquired from Joe's father. So they are Baton Rouge Ory's. Annie's mother was an Edmondston. Annie's brother was Elmer Ory and his kids live all around Annie. They are Edmondstons and Garon's. One of Elmers Daughters married Jules Garon, they have an Air Conditiong Business and live out Highland Road today. My ex father in law, Justin Doiron lives on Highland Road, too, practically across the street from Jules. Justin might have some infor for you, but he doesn't talk much about the family stuff. His wife Lenabell does though. I'll have to call them and get Ory info from her.
Horace really had the most info i've gotten from one place.
