Carolyn: I am also new to the Ory family search. My X-husbands paternal grandmother was Annie Mabel Ory Doiron. She passed away in the mid 1980's. I'd like to find out for my children and grandkids ( of which I have 3). I am trying to find out info on her family and really don't have that much to go on. Horace Ory did send me quite a bit of Ory info leading to Annie, so - you might contact him, looking back on the Ory posting and getting his email address or contacting him through a posting. He seemed to have a good deal of info. I live in Lafayette...Where are you? If I can be of help with something specific, just let me know. There is a Sid Ory here in Lafayette now. I believe he is retired from the university here, I think. He calls in often to the local radio talk show on Saturday mornings, where they talk about Lafayette in the old days and have very interesting guests and they encourage people to call in the comment or discuss whatever is on their minds... its KPEL @ 105.1 fm locally. Sat. 8 - 10 am. I love it. I grew up in Baton Rouge and have no family history here other then my childrens fathers DOIRON cajun ties. I know there was a great flood here around 1927. It was a mess...flooded up and down the Achafalayia River. Well, good luck...and Best Reguards, Susan
