Just surfing and somehow got sidetracked on Corktown. You may very well have these answers by now but if you don't, I'll try to help. There is no actual Corktown, Michigan.Corktown is a neighborhood in Detroit, much like the Bronx is to New York City.It is the oldest existing neighborhood in Detroit. The location is in the area of old Tiger Stadium and the Ambassador Bridge to Canada. It was originally an Irish immigrant neighborhood, hence the name.My parents grew up there and belive it or not it is still a thriving community in the middle of the worst of Detroit. The church you mentioned, St. Joseph. Might it be St. Josephat? That would be in the vicinity of Corktown. I've not heard of the other.I hope I have helped and let me know if may again.
