Nieves Robles Ortiz, 82, of Indio died June 9, 2005, in Indio.
She was born Aug. 5, 1922, to Anastacio Robles and Donicia Guevara in Odom, Texas.
She married Silviano A. Ortiz, Sr. on July 9, 1939, in Harlingen, Texas.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by six daughters, Virginia O. Aguirre of Coachella, Graciela Ortiz of Palm Springs, Hilda O. Valdez of Harlingen, Texas, Nelda O. Flores of Linsey, Irma Ortiz and Isabel D. Balderrama of Indio; five sons, Diego Antonio R. Ortiz, Sr. of Dallas, Ricardo R. Ortiz of Indio, Guadalupe R., Reymundo R., Sr. and Silviano R. Jr. Ortiz, of Harlingen; a brother, Arturo Villareal of Harlingen; 38 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Soledad Catholic Church in Coachella.
A funeral Mass will be at 8 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Soledad Catholic Church.
Burial will be at Coachella Valley Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of FitzHenry Funeral Home Indio
