I am looking for information on the family of Luis R. Ortega (also known as de'Ortega). He was born in 1901 in El Seco, Mexico. He married Elizabeth Elvira Christiansen (b. 26 Oct 1894 in Copenhagen, Denmark)in New York City, and they had one child. They divorced and he remarried to someone named Vivian. Luis used the middle initial "R" for Rivadeneira, although it was not his true name. Rumor has it that this name was given to him by his "sponsor" (Victor Arnet) of Germany. Victor was Luis' sponsor when Luis moved to NYC from Mexico. Luis attended night school and learned English. He then opened up a salon in the city. After that, he attended chiropractic school and became a well-known chiropractor. He eventually went back to Mexico. His father's name was also Luis Ortega. This Luis married a woman named Luisa Fernandez, and they had the folling children: Dolores, Frances, Carmen, Asuncion, and of course, Luis. After Luisa (wife) died, Luis remarried to a woman name Mary Matilda. They had the following children: Concha, Matilda and Mario.

This Ortega family was originally from Madrid,Spain. I've been told that they originally went by the surname "de'Ortega", but when they immigrated to Mexico, they dropped the "de" and went by simply "Ortega". They were wealthy and owned a hacienda around the time of Zapato. They lived in Cuernavaca and Mexico City.

Please respond if you have any further information on this line.
