Just wondering if you have made any advances with your family tree? I am researching my mothers, mothers family who where Orsborn's although some spelt it Orsborne and others Osborn I know some emigrated to Canada and there are some in America also some in Birmingham and Leamington uk. I have recently heard that some were of true Romany decent? I am just about to try to follow this one up. There are no members of the family left here in Britain to ask with the exception of one who seems not to want to tell me anything for some reason tends to know things only when i say i have found a name link they will respond by saying i have heard of that name. I see you have been tracing the Orsborne's so wondered if there was anything you have come across on your searching that would relate to our line of Orsborn's I have a marraige certificate for a WILLIAM OSBORN he has signed the certificate ORSBORN. He married a Julietta Turner in 1842 in the registration district of Warwick England. I am assuming they may have called their first born William after the father i have not searched this yet. His father was a John Orsborn so i am assuming that William was the second born to the family not having the fathers name, unless John his father was the second born to a William Orsborn and named his son after his father. I have Ambrosden in Oxfordshire England as birth place for some of the Orsborn's, as well as Southam Warwickshire England, Leamington Warwickshire England The ones in Canada were in Niagara Falls area. There is a misspelling of the name there as one member of the family has the name spelt Orsborne so consequently all his off springs now have that spelling. In Leamington England one spelt the name Osborn she married a Hyam. On a number of the census records it is also misspelt. It seems the spelling of the names was not so important then and makes it difficult to trace family members. The other names that i have linked so far are Fawdry, Fortnum, Simms, Walton, Bass, Hare, Angelillo, Hinton, Wilkins, Pratt, Irving. I do not know if you will recognise any of these names at all or you have come across them in your search for your family of Orsborne's. If you do have any information you may think is relevant to our family tree i would be most grateful and consequently if any information i hold will help you i would be exchange information with you. Many thanks for taking the time to read this . Glenise :-) Notify Administrator about this message?
