Kathleen:I recently stumbled upon this site and am fascinated by all of the information on the Orrick clan.I am a descendant of Nicholas Orrick, one of the 10 children of John and Susanna.I believe that the answer to your question concerning the parents of Susannah Hammond is Colonel Thomas Hammond and Rebecca (Larkin) Lightfoot, widow of Thomas Lightfoot.Thomas was the son of Maj. Gen. John Hammond (the first emigre Hammond to America) and Mary Dorsey Hammond.Regarding the spouses of the children of John and Susanna:1) Rachel, born 1720, married William Hopkins; 2) John, born 1722, married Caroline Hammond; 3) Nicholas, born 1725, married first Hannah Cromwell, and second, Mary Bell; 4)Nathan, born 1727, no record of marriage; 5)Thomas, born 1732, no record of marriage; 6)Rebeckah, born 1733, married Dr. Henry Murray; 7)Catherine, born 1736, married Col. Elihu Hall; 8)Charles, born 1738, married Rebecca Stewart; 9)Sarah, born 1741, married first William Chilton, second William Douglass; and 10) Susannah, born 1743, marrieda Mr. Sullivan.Much of this info came from an article that appeared in the Baltimore Sun in 1907 on the Orrick lineage. I would love to share info on the family as well.
