Glad to connect up with you again. Were you involved with the Orrell Family website?
Have researched those Orrells thoroughly - I had always asssumed my Walter was part of that family with them being in nearby Brooklyn, and the three different Walters in their family. But now am confident that it isn't the case - Walter Orrell Sr. died in 1886 (I have his death record) and would not be a likely candidate to be the father at age 76.His son, Walter (the house mover) born abt 1850 was who I always assumed to be my Walter's father, but he, in fact, died in an accident as reported by the NY Times in 1881. It is a positive identification for a number of reasons. The other Walter Orrell is Walter Shaw Orrell, but he was just a few years older than my Walter and there are plenty of records of his family and children separate from my Walter Orell.
I think I probably was the one who contributed the information on Angelina Collard and that Walter had changed the spelling of his name to Orell, though now I don't believe it's the case. I also thought Clementine was Thressie Hall, which I now know is false - in addition to his seemingly mysterious past he also married three times.
Even though you don't research anymore, I'd be glad to keep you posted if I find more info on this line.I have the Brooklyn Orrell family's cemetery plot records being sent to me in the next few weeks as well, which may shed some light.
Regarding my strong suspicion that David E. McLaren is my Walter Orell, today I have found a David McLaren outside of Schenectady in 1906 being sued by his wife for non support according to a newspaper mention. Something like that might be a good reason why someone might change their identity.Would be great if that somehow turned out to be the David E. McLaren I'm researching....
Best,
Robert
