As far as I know none of my relative have the name Dermot. I do have some unusual names in my family. You did not list any dates for immigration other children born to the marriage, locations. I thought that maybe I could pick up something on the name Dermott. Though you did not indicate and he probably did not immigrate. I did pick up one Jeremiah Dermot- I think in Michigan and the one below from Kerry. They may be connected in some way.
