Hi Ann,
Thanks for responding.Yes, I am related to Bernard Keating, Jr.'s wife, Louisa Walter. She was the half-sister to my great-grandmother, Anna Stein Thompson.Anna died young of TB and left three young sons, just as Louisa died young.I was sent a letter that was written by the Keating family to a cousin of mine (whom I never met), and in the letter it mentioned Bernard Keating visiting with my grandfather, Justin Thompson, and they sent me a picture of their visit together.Anyway, in the letter it also stated that they were given a picture of their grandmother (Johanna [Anna] Rowe Walter Stein) -- so I kept researching to see if I could find the Keatings that were still living today.I was very happy to have been able to correspond with Bernard and Ed Keating and they still had the picture and sent me a copy.I was thrilled to have a picture of her and put a face to the name.
Back to the O'Rourkes -- as I mentioned in my other post, we had been to the cemetery back in February and my husband mentioned to me that he saw a tombstone for a Mary Keating, and I did also. Then when I found out this past week that the O'Rourkes were buried at that cemetery, I went back to take a picture of their tombstones.I couldn't find Mary Keating that day.I called the gentleman in charge of the cemetery and he said there isn't a listing of a Mary Keating and he didn't know that name. So, was I imagining that I saw her tombstone, or do you know if you were there and saw it also?
