Hi George - glad to see your question!
WHICH GEORGE ORMEROD DO YOU MEAN? There are absolutely HUNDREDS of them - all the way from the 13th century! The most famous of all is George Ormerod the Historian of Cheshire, (1785-1873) and he was descended from the main line of ORMEROD of ORMEROD.
Please tell me more about which particular lineage you mean - dates, places of birth etc. A wonderful source of information is "The Ormerods" a book by Prof. Milton Blackburn Ormerod, published in 1996 by The Lancashire Family History and Heraldry Society. It's a real gem and represents a lifetime of research.
Looking forward to your response...
Dot Hall (nee ORMEROD of Lancs.)
