Candi,
The 1900 U.S. census record for the Andrew Rajter/Reiter family indicates that Konstancya/Constance immigrated to the U.S. in 1867.This corresponds to the dates of immigration for all of the other immigrating Orloski/Orlowski family members. Also, according to the census record, she was married in 1867 (close to the La Porte County marriage record of 10/16/1870).In your posting, you indicated that Konstancya/Constance was from the Otis area. That coupled with the Indiana Marriage Index, 1845-1920 was merely a logical deduction that linked Konstancya/Constance to Jacob and Julia Orlowski/Orloski.
The 1900 census record also indicates that Andrew immigrated in 1867, so Konstancya/Constance and Andrew could have immigrated together as husband and wife. What do his naturalizations papers say?The people who created the Indiana Marriage Index, 1845-1920, could have erroneously recorded Henry instead of Andrew.
The only way to solve this puzzle is to get a copy of the La Porte County marriage license, or better yet, examine the marriage register at the church where Konstancya/Constance was married. The priest would sometimes record in the marriage register where the bride and groom were baptized as well as the names of the bride and groom’s parents.
There is evidence that link Frank and Rosa as the children of Jacob and Julia.
