The John Orick B 1827 in NE-TN Campbell Co with son John Orick B 1863 is not the same John as the one in Mid-TN Warren Co, in spite of the similarities. They are in the census at the same time in separate parts of the state, for several decades.
In 1860, here is the Orick family in Campbell:
John Orick 30
Martha Orick 30
Mary Orick 10
Susan Orick 8
James Orick 5
Roberson Orick 1
and here is the Orrick family in Warren:
Jno Orrick 34 M (John)
Margaret Orrick 30 F (Margaret - Peggy)
Sarah Orrick 12 F (Sarah Elizabeth - Bettie)
James Orrick 9 F
Laura Orrick 7 F
William Orrick 5 F?
Vetes Orrick 3 F
Margaret Orrick 1 F
The John's in question are not born till 1863.
John Riley Orrick, born in 1863 to this second family, and at least some of his siblings, became Arricks. Some are still in TN as Arricks, some are in Evansville IN, some are in TX.
