Longford John O'Reilly Married to Anne McGann

Hi, I'm trying to research into my maternal Grandmothers side of the family, she is still with us but is not at all forthcoming with information. I dont know many dates, as even my Gan Gan (Grandmas) Date of Birth is a mystery to the family.

Her Father was John O'Reilly
Her Mother was Anne O'Reilly (formerly McGann)

Brothers & Sisters were (as believed to be age order)

Mary--------------------------Emigrated to New York at 16
Margret (Peggy)----------Emigrated to New York at 16
James/Jimmy
Kathleen (Kathy)----------Emigrated to New York at 16
Bridget (Bridie)-----------Emigrated to England at 16
John
Rita---------------------------Believed to still live in Ireland

I have met 3 of my Gan Gan's sisters in New York, all of whom appeared secretive and confused about dates and ages. There is also another family memeber Peter (Petey), my grandmother believes he was a cousin who lived with them yet her sisters believe he was their brother.

The family lived in a house on a farm in Longford that they owned but rented out.

Between the ages of 4 and 6 (aprox) Bridie was sent to live with her maternal Grandmother after her Grandfathers passing. It is possible that Kathy and Bridie are infact twins, this is one family theory and semi-explains why Bridie may have been the child chosen to live with her Grandmother (twins plus 6 other children would have been a lot to handle).

The elder sisters are believed to be in their 70's possibly early 80's. Making it likely that the marriage of their parents John and Anne would have taken place circa 1920 and they may have been born approx 1900.

Any information on this would be hugely interesting as we are truly in the dark. If you think you could be a relation or you or any of your family members recall this family and know anything about there history i would be grateful if you could let me know.

Many Thanks
