Hi Richard,

I have some information regarding the Ord family of Lamesley who were paper manufacturers - but do not have a John born in 1792. Do you have a parent name for him?
There is always a chance of being descended from Henry de Orde, but a lot of Ord families simply took their last name from East or West Ord. The Ords of Newbiggin, Norham and Longridge were for sure of his line but the others - it will take a lot of unravelling to confirm that.
