A review of several records suggests that there are some problems with the info in my previous post. In her mother's obit of Jul 1953 Minerva PICKETT is named as surviving dau, living in Chattanooga, TN; in her brother's obit of Aug 1973, Minerva PICKETT, sis, is named as surviving, living in Colorado Springs, CO. Birthdate of Otto Pickett (presumably son of Minerva J. ORANGE and Henry PICKETT) is in KY Birth Index; there is an Otto Pickett with same birth date who died in Colorado Springs, CO in May 1983 (SSDI). The SSDI also has a Minerva PICKETT, b. 18 Apr 1899 [1900 census shows birthdate of Apr 1899], who d. in Colorado Springs, CO in Sep 1974. If these references are all to the same Minerva ORANGE PICKETT, when was she married to Charles DOBBS?
SSDI has a Charles DOBBS, b. 18 Jul 1918, d. Mar 1989, last residence Chattanooga, TN. Could this be the Charles DOBBS who was Sally DOBB's father-in-law? If so he would have been 19 yr younger than Minerva, and there is the problem above of her name being recorded as PICKETT, apparently up until her death.
Could there have been another Minerva Jane ORANGE and/or another Henry PICKETT whose families somehow became confused?
