James JOHNSON b 1759, fought in the Revolutionary War and died in 1838
in Roane Co, Tennessee.
The James and Anna JOHNSON family traveled from Tennessee, to Iowa
Territory about 1841, and then on to Oregon by wagon train in 1847.
They settled a land claim in Tuality, Washington Co, Oregon in May of
1848, just 2 miles north of Forest Grove, OR. Here they remained until
James died in 1870, the sons raising their families in Washington Co,
nearby Columbia Co, Marion Co and Multnomah Co areas. Many descendants
stayed in the Portland, Oregon area and many traveled to the San
Francisco, California area.
If this is your family, or you think it might be, please contact me.
Other connected surnames are: ADAIR, BENNETT, BOYSEL, DeBORD, DURBIN,
FILLMORE, FOSTER, HAVENS, HUDSON, JACKSON, JOHNSON, LUTZ, NOLAN /
NOLAND, NOREHEUSEN / NORDHAUSEN, OWENS, PURSCH / PURSCHE, SEIP, &
TURNER.

Thanks,
Diana
