Hi Pamela, I did find a Carrie Moore in the 1900 Astoria, Clatsop Co., OR Census. Minnie Moore, head household, b. June 1871, Norway, immigrated 1873, widow, had 3 children all of whom were alive in 1900; Carrie, b. April 1893, OR; Charles, b. May 1895, OR; Elsie Moore, b. OR, March 1898 and Laura Ammondson, sister, b. OR, 1887. I thought this might be a possibility because Minnie was a widow, however, I don't know because common sense tells me if you're a widow in financial trouble, you'd adopt out your youngest. But who knows. Anyway, Minnie re-married and in 1910 she and her new family along with Charles and Elsie are in Wrangell, Division 1, Alaska. See http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/adoption.html for info on Oregon adoptions. I've never delved into these records but if I understand this web site, the old records are sealed unless you can get written authorization. However, 100 years later who could possibly care and I'd contact the court houses in Clatsop and Wallowa Counties to be sure. I think you have the 1880 Center, Decatur Co., IA Census showing Isaac, Mary and family. And as you know Carrie appears with the family in 1900 in Wallowa. I didn't find Carrie either as a Moore or Doan after the 1900 Census. However, I didn't find the Doan family in any 1910 Census. If my original theory is correct, Carrie could have married by 1910 in Wallowa County. See www.oregongenealogy.com/wallowa/index.htm and they have Wallowa County marriage records. Then sometime 1915-1917 [can tell by the boys WWI draft records] the Doan family moved back to Iowa except for Ora who moved to ID. Mary must have died before 1920 because Isaac S. Doan appears in Linn, Marshall Co., IA in an Old Soldiers Home as b. IN, abt. 1842, widow. In 1925 several family members are living in Mills, Lyons, IA. House 16, Otice, Alice, mother, 69, widow; Doan, Harry E., head, 40 and Mattie M. wife, 34. House 13, Doan, Isaac O., father, 84, widow; Elsie V., daughter, 18, Jesaline L, dau, 15 and Ival A. son 9. I hope this helps. Successful Hunting! Notify Administrator about this message?
