John Cox and Martha "Mattie" Beaman

Hi,

I'm looking for my GGgrandmother Mattie Cox. Her maiden name was Martha Beaman -- we are unsure of the
spelling of the last name -- it could be Beeman or Beamon.

Martha married John Cox (7/1/1849-7/4/1934) sometime between 1870 and 1880 probably in Marion County
Oregon. We know that John was born in Marion Co. to Samuel Stanfield Cox and Harriet Cox, and I think it's
possible Martha was born or lived there as well. I found a listing for John's brother Samuel T. Cox marrying Ida B.
Beamon in the house of Justus Beamon in marion co. It's possible Martha and Ida were sisters or cousins. My
Ggrandfather lists Martha being born, however, in Independece Oregon which is in Polk Co.

I'm not sure what year Martha was born in, but according to my Ggrandfather she would have died in 1889 when he
was 9 years old. She is not buried next to her husband, who later moved into Polk Co. and remarried. I think it is
possible Martha is buried either with her parents or possibly in the Cox Cemetery in Ankeny Oregon in Marion County (also known as
Silver Station cemetery or the Ankeny Cemetery).

I would appreciate any help with this. Marion Co. has not transcribed it's marriage or birth records for
Usgenweb.com, so I've hit a dead end.

Thanks much,
Kim Archer
