Hi M. A., the Thomas Bruce family was living in Como, New Madrid Co., MO in 1920. Thomas, b. IL, 26, fireman saw mill; Malveren [Census spelling] b. MO, 22; Mariam [Census spelling], son, b. MO, 4 4/12ths; Carl, b. MO, almost 2 and Thomas Hubbard, newphew, b. MO, 9.
In 1930 the family was living in Rockaway [Oregon Coast], Tillamook Co., OR. Thomas G., b. IL, 36, marr @ 21, dairy farmer; Mavourmeen B. [Census spelling], b. MO, 32, marr @ 17; Maron E. [Census spelling], son, b. MO, 14 and Carl G., b. MO, 12.
An Edward M. Bruce, b. 1915, MO was living in Marion Co., OR when he enlisted in the Army 12 Jan 1942 in Portland, OR. He had completed 4 hrs high school & was single, without dependents. Source: National Archives & Records Admin.
