I checked the R. L. Polk's City Directories for Portland, Oregon, for Wauna Court, at 545 Morrison Street, and found the name and address to be correct. It was located in the downtown area between 17th and Chapman. The actual name in the directories was "Wauna Court Apartments." The 1930 city directory was the first year to have a reverse directory in the back, listing the address first. It listed the name of the owner of the home, or renter next to the address. I looked for anyone listed with the name Maude ROBERTS or Maude VAN OSTRAND in the reverse directory, but didn't find anyone with that name at the Wauna Court Apartments in 1930.

I also went back to the first section, listing people by their last name, and searched this section for anyone named Maude ROBERTS or Maude VAN OSTRAND living at the address on Morrison, but didn't find anyone. I did this for the city directories for 1927, 1928, 1929 and 1930.

I found two telephone books for Portland, one was dated February 1925 and the other August 1926. I looked for Maude with either of the two surnames. I only found the ones I already gave you in my previous posting when I searched all the city directories for her and her son.

I checked the State of Oregon Marriage Index CD's, Volume 1 for 1925-1929, and Volume 2 for 1930-1934, for Maude under either surname, but didn't find a listing for her as a bride. I thought she may have married in Oregon and that was why we couldn't find her.

Sorry, but the search didn't find her again.
