I used an online database to search the Oregonian newspaper of Portland, Oregon, through the Multnomah County Library. I didn't find an obituary, from June 7 through June 15, but did find a funeral notice.
The Sunday Oregonian, June 11, 1967, Page 37, Funeral Notices:
"JOHNSON - Walter Edgar Sr., of 417 S. Edgewood, Seaside, Ore. Friends invited to services Monday, 11 am, Chapel of MT SCOTT FUNERAL HOME, Foster rd at SE 59th. Private commitment Portland Memorial Crematorium, Milwaukie. Lodge No 109, AF&AM, participating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Heart Fund."
The Oregon Death Index gave the following additional information:
Death Certificate: 8738
The Social Security Death Index, gave the following additional information:
Last Residence: 97138 Seaside, Clatsop County, Oregon.
Born: 8 Nov. 1889
SSN Issued: Oregon (Before 1951)
The funeral notice gave an address for Walter in Seaside, Oregon and the SSDI listed Seaside, Clatsop County, Oregon as the "last residence." You might want to contact a volunteer in that county, or try contacting the public library in Seaside or possibly Astoria. The town of Astoria has a very nice library, and the Astoria library is larger than the one in Seaside. Astoria isn't too far from Seaside. The newspaper in Astoria may also cover and or publish happenings in and around Seaside.
