Looking for information concerning the following persons:
William C. Slaughterback and wife Cora Sanborn. He was born November 1863 in Oregon. Cora was born in 1867 in Kansas. She was a daughter of William J. and Margaret Sanborn. I believe that this William Charles Slaughterback was a son of John Slaughterback and Rosanna Caroline Tuttle of Portland, who came to Oregon from Iowa on the Oregon Trail in 1853.
At the time of the 1900 census William C. Slaughterback was still living with his parents in Portland, although he was supposedly married by then. Cora "Slauterbach" born Feb 1866 in Kansas was living as a lodger with William and Ada Boice in Portland, listed as married, mother of 3 children, 2 living. Why were William and Cora living apart at that time?
In 1900 Beaver Falls, Columbia County, Oregon, two children -- Harry and Hazel Slaughterback aged 12 and 10 respectively -- were living with their grandparents, William and Margaret Sanborn.
In 1910 William and Cora were together in Portland's Ward 1, but no children were listed.
In 1910 Portland, Ward 10, Harry Slaughterback, age 22, was living with his grandparents W. J. and Margaret "Sandborn."
Hazel Slaughterback married Percival Pye on 30 June 1909 in Portland. They were living in Portland's Ward I in 1910, with an infant son named Clarence, 2 months old. Percival appears here and there in the records and died in 1972 in Portland, but Hazel and Clarence disappear from the records after 1910. What happened to them?
Cora Sanborn Slaughterback died in 1913. Did her husband remarry? A Charles W. Slaughterback was living in South Kelly Butte, Multnomah County, Oregon at the time of the 1920 census with wife Dora D. and 11-year-old daughter Eva M. This Charles Slaughterback was 55 years old, approximately the same age as William C. Slaughterback. Same person?
Harry Slaughterback married Loretta E. Irvine in 1911. They had at least one child, Clifford Craig Slaughterback.
