I can't tell you what she was like, but I can tell you where she lived from information in the Portland City Directories.
I started with Portland City Directories for 1968 and checked directories through 1976. In 1968, I found 3 men named Paul MONTGOMERY. Two were married, but not to anyone name Twila May and the third didn't list a wife. None of them listed the middle initial "L" nor the middle name of LeRoy.
In 1969 there was the following entry, but no wife was listed.
"MONTGOMERY, Paul L., h522 N. Ainsworth St."
Starting with 1971, I found a Paul L. and Twila MONTGOMERY living in North Portland and his occupation was listed as "lab" (meaning laborer):
"MONTGOMERY, Paul L. (Twila), h7715 N. Exeter Ave."
There wasn't a separate entry for Twila MONTGOMERY, nor was there anything that listed an occupation for her. The last entry I found for them was in 1974, and they were living at the same address. In 1975-1976 there were entries for men named Paul MONTGOMERY, but none with a middle name LeRoy or middle initial of "L" or wife named Twila.
The Oregon Death Index listed the following, which might be your Paul, although it listed a different spouse:
