Mary Barton

I have a photograph of a woman on horseback in riding gear including chaps. She is twirling a rope. On the back is written, "Mary Barton, Inmaha, Ore., 1935."

I emailed a copy to the Cowgirl Hall of Fame as they have a Mary Barton in the Hall, but this is not the same person. They analyzed her clothing but it contradicted the "1935" date, placing the date around the turn of the century.

Inmaha is in Wallowa Co. and I emailed them. The librarian asked a person who lived there and was a young person in 1935. She knew a Barton family but they only had two daughters, Hazel and Ruth and a son, Asa.

I have searched Idaho and Oregon censuses without success. I am wondering if Barton could have been her married name. Nevertheless, I don't find a Mary even close to the right age.

If anyone knows any thing about her, please contact me.
