Hi Linda:
Good thing I called cause you would not have liked the run-around!
Ok-the newspaper doesn't keep their papers on microfiche-they send them to the Jackson County Library. The library (after hanging up on me 4 times) told me the copy could be ordered online.-Their online site stated that obits after 1953 are held at the Rogue Genealogy Society.
The Rogue website wants a $10.00 fee for copies of the obituary and research time. Here's that site:
http://www.rvgslibrary.org/http://www.rvgslibrary.org/
If you scroll down on the home page you will find and obituary index which lists two obituaries for Charles H Nash! (Unfortunately you cannot view them!)
So-here are the names and email addresses for three volunteers who will look that up for you for free:
Jackson Medford/Medford Mail Tribune
Alleyne F - [email protected]
Jackson Medford/Medford Mail Tribune, Also:
Oregon Death Index Lookups and County Cemetery Photos Elizabeth C - [email protected]
Jackson Medford/Medford Mail Tribune (1892-P). Partial index available.
Limit: 5 lookups per month total.
Sandra W - [email protected]
Be sure to put "obit Lookup Jackson County" in the subject line of your email. AND-only email 1 person at a time-if you don't receive a response then move on to the next one. It might help if you give them the reference numbers from the Rogue website-as what page and volume the obits are on.
I hope this works out for you! If not, let me know and I will get another referral!
Laura
