My family recently broke through one of our brick walls in our genealogy and can now ask questions. Would appreciate any information anyone may have regarding any part of this family.

       I. Isaac MURPHY was born circa 1814 at Pennsylvania. He married Polly Whitney on 8 Apr 1831 at McLean County, Illinois. He married Mary Whitney on 21 Apr 1837 at McLean County, Illinois. He and Mary Whitney appeared on the census of 12 Nov 1850 at McLean County, Illinois. He and Mary Whitney appeared on the census of 13 Aug 1860 at Empire Township, McLean County, Illinois. He appeared on the census of 18 Jul 1870 at Empire Township, McLean County, Illinois. Neither Isaac nor Mary appear in the 1880 census in McLean County, Illinois. They had the following children.

       A. Charles W. MURPHY; born about 29 December 1831, probably in McLean County, Illinois. He appeared in the census of 12 Nov 1850 at McLean County, Illinois; living with his father, Isaac. He next appeared on the census of 13 Aug 1860 at Empire Township, McLean County, Illinois. He is single, 28, and iving with his parents and brother.

Per the Illinois State Archives, it appears he married Margaret Ann Dunlap, daughter of Moses Dunlap and Lucinda (--?--), on 4 Feb 1862 at McLean County, Illinois. From this union they had one surviving child, Lucinda Catherine. Lucinda perhaps died, as he married Sarah A. Howell, daughter of Levi Howell and Mary (--?--), on 5 Sep 1867 at McLean County, Illinois.

He and Sarah A. Howell (1706) appeared on the census of 18 Jul 1870 at Empire Township, McLean County, Illinois with three children, Lucinda C., Harry, and Amanda.

He immigrated between 1873 and 1874 to Yamhill County, Oregon. He appeared on the census of 16 Jun 1880 at North Fork Precinct, Yamhill County, Oregon with wife Sarah and children; Lucinda C., Harry C., Amanda, Perry, born in Illinois, and Emery, born in Oregon.

Charles died on 14 Jul 1889; probably in Yamhill County, Oregon. He was buried at Pike Cemetery, Yamhill, Yamhill County, Oregon.

       B. Edwin M. MURPHY was born circa 1845 at Illinois. He appeared on the census of 12 Nov 1850 at McLean County, Illinois; Murphy, with his father, mother, and brother. He next appeared on the census of 13 Aug 1860 at Empire Township, McLean County, Illinois, a 24 year old farmer living with his parents and brother.

He married Jane Howell on 23 Dec 1862 at McLean County, Illinois and the two of them appear in the census of 18 Jul 1870 at Empire Township, McLean County, Illinois with two sons.

Jane may have died as Edwin married Margaret Oliver on 26 Oct 1871 at McLean County, Illinois. He and Margaret appeared on the census of 29 Jun 1880 at West Township, McLean County, Illinois; It is interesting to note that for this family no relationships are given.
Murphy, E.M., a 44 year old farmer born in Illinois. His father was born in Pennsylvania and his mother in Ohio. With him are wife, Margaret, born in Ireland, John J., 16, Isaac, 14, Mary J, age 8, Laura, age 3.
