IRVIN of Oregon, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky
I'm hoping someone can tell me the last name of John J. Irvin's wife. The 1860 Census of Littleton, Schuyler, Illinois (which shows his birth as Kentucky) shows John's wife's name as Achey. John shows as born about 1813, Achey about 1822 in Ohio, all the children were born in Illinois: Wm. about 1842; Sarah J. about 1843; Martha A. about 1845; Isabell about 1848; Nathan about 1851; Joseph about 1852; Mary F. about 1856; and Robert about 1859.
Son Nathan's middle name is Lewis and he was born 5 July 1851; he married Matilda Adelia Fosnot and they raised a large family, some born in Illinois, some in Iowa, and some in Baker County, Oregon. Son Joseph's middle initial is either E or S, and he, too, moved to Baker County, Oregon and never married; he was born 10 August 1852.
There is a possibility that John J. had a brother named Nathan who also shows up on the Littleton, Schuyler, Illinois 1860 Census with his second wife Elizabeth and daughter Mary C.
If anyone knows more about Achey, about John J.'s parents and siblings; where they came from in Kentucky; where they married; or any other family connections, I would greatly appreciate the info. Thanks.
