Hi Eileen,
I found Mary Anderson and children in 1870 living in Chico, Butte Co., CA.
Mary Anderson, b. PA, 45.
James W. Anderson, b. PA, 14.
Their neighbors were Carrie and William Van Kirk. Carrie was Mary and Isaac's daughter.
Carrie Van Kirk, b. OH, 20.
William Van Kirk, b. OH, 2
John B. Anderson, b. PA, 17.
Edward Anderson, b. PA, 16 however the 1860 Census says he was born in CA.
Albert, b. CA, 15.
May, b. CA, 13.
Mariah, b. CA, 10.
Dolson, Van Kirk, b. CA, 1.
I followed all of the family members in the Censuses to see if Edward living with any of them but he didn't.
In 1880 Carrie and son William were living in Chico.
Carrie Van Kirk, b. OH, 29, divorced, sewing.
William or Milliam Van Kirk, b. CA, son, 10.
Prior to the 1880 Census Mary Anderson married J. Henderson and in 1880 they were living in San Joaquin, Sacramento Co., CA.
J. Henderson, b. OH, 50, farmer.
Mary Henderson, b. PA, 54.
Bell M. Anderson, stepdau, b. CA, 20, with Mother.
Abt. 1891 Maria B. married Wilbur M. Hatch and in 1900 they were living in Sacramento Ward 7, Sacramento Co., CA.
Wilbur M. Hatch, b. ME, May 1852, marr 9 yrs, druggist.
Maria B. Hatch, b. CA, Nov 1859, father born=OH, mother born=PA, had given birth to one child who died.
Mary Henderson, motherlaw, b. PA, 75, widow, had given birth to seven children & six alive in 1900.
In 1910 they were living in San Francisco Assembly District 35, San Francisco Co., CA.
Wilber M. Hatch, b. ME, 57, marr 19 yrs, druggist.
Belle M. Hatch, b. CA, 50.
Mary C. Henderson, motherlaw, 84, widow, had given birth to seven children but six alive in 1910.
In 1930 Belle was living in Sacramento.
Belle M. Hatch, b. CA, 69, widow?, father born-OH, mother born=PA, no occupation.
What were the names of Edward's chldren? Where and when were they born? Maybe I can find him from that angle.
Another idea is to find his mother's obituary. Mary Henderson died after 1910 probably in San Francisco or Sacramento.
Another lady had posted a family tree on Ancestry of this family. I asked her to contact you via this posting. She didn't appear to know about Edward and Matilda's divorce but maybe you and she can collaborate.
