Most of the city of Portland was renumbered around 1932.
The best resource for this problem is Polk's Portland city
directory for 1933. In the street guide section, beginning on page 1369, the publisher has given both the new and the old numbers for each address, so it can be used like a conversion table.
I know of two paper copies of this directory: one at the
Multnomah County Public Library in downtown Portland, and one in the Oregon Collection of the Knight Library on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene. I think it is also included in the large collection of city directories on microfilm that seems to be widely available. I know that at least the National Archives in Seattle and the Sutro Library in San Francisco have copies of this microfilm.
In your particular case, the 1933 directory shows Willard H. REES and his wife Mary living at and owning 6236 NE 27th av, with the old number given as 1312. Their house is on the corner of E 27th and Holman. Just to be sure, the 1931 city directory shows the same couple living at 1312 E 27th N, still on the corner of E 27t and Holman. Looking at this corner more closely, the house of interest is on the side of Holman nearer Ainsworth than Highland, which is the south side of Holman. The even house number indicates that this house was on the east side of 27th.
In these modern times an interesting resource is the street views available at maps.google.com. There you can see this photo of your address:

Your Mary can be seen in other Portland directories.
In the 1920 directory she is at 510 Flanders. In the directories for 1921, 1923 and 1924 she is at 1312 E 27th N. I don't find her in the directories for 1925 or 1926.
Willard H. REES and his wife Mary first appear at 1312 E 27th N in the 1927 directory.
