My Hales who were in Linn Co., OR are:
white Northern European - Presbyterian
Jane Kennedy Hale b. 1814 Greene Co., TN
m. Meshack Hale b. 1807 Washington Co., TN
married: 27 Oct. 1827 Washington Co., TN
Moved to: Rush Co., IN> Morgan Co., IL> Andrews Co., MO where Meshack was killed 8n 1861 by Confederate Sympathizers. They had 2 children:
Harriet Hale b. 1837
William Simpson Hale b. 1850
When Meshack was killed, Jane took William and they fled to her brother John K. Kennedys home in Mahaska Co., IA. He was parparing to lead a Wagon Train over the ORegon Trail so Jane and William came west over the Oregon Trail with her brothers Wagon Train in 1862.
Jane and William settled in Linn Co., John K.'s son, John Henry Kennedy stayed with them while he attended Willamette University to become a Doctor. Jane married 2nd William McMeekin.William Hale m. McMeekins daughter, Minerva Meekin. They went to Walla Walla for a few years and stayed with John K' while William taught school.

Lula J. b. 1878
Orla b. 1880
Ivan b. 1883
Irene b. 1883 d 1954 (Tiwns)
Beatrice b. 1891
Warren b. 1892 d. 1892
There is not anyRufus of William S. Hale. Minerva died in 1892 from the birth of Warren and William did not remarry.
