BEARDEN/GRISEL

I am looking for any informatin regarding Seaborn J. Bearden b. 1813-14 in South Carolina, specifically what was his wife, Hannah's, maiden name. In 1870 census they are still living in Giles county. They have two children, not their own, living with them, Rufus Benjamin Griswell and Marietta Griswell. Rufus is my great grandfather. The family story is he and Marietta went west with another family. I am trying to find the connection as to why the Bearden's? Was Rufus's mother a Bearden? Was she a sister to Hannah or Seaborn?, or were they just a kind family taking two orphans in? By 1880 Seaborn is in Washington state with his married daughter Susan Harris and family. Rufus is in Oregon. Hannah must have died sometime before 1880. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
