Trish,
I've discovered since I posted the earlier message that John Loose died in 1865, so that would explain why Margaret and Isabel are alone by 1870. The rest of the children, Anderson, Thornton, Catharine,Mary E, and Harriet were Wrights, born while Margaret Hare was married to her first husband, Mr. Wright. Not many women get to marry Mr. Right... Anyway, he died when they were crossing the plains from Indiana. Isabel, my ancestor, married William Palmer of Norway. Mary Elizabeth married William McKnight of Virginia in Douglas County, OR on 1 May 1859 and they moved to Coos Bay in 1865. This information is from a book called "Coos River Echoes," by Charlotte L. Mahaffy, which I have borrowed from my mother (she just lives next door). I have no information about the other children at all. If there's any information I can look up for you in this book I would be glad to. It has a list of settlers in the Coos River area alphabetically with biographical data, plus transcriptions of newspaper articles etc.
Keith
